Following the joint Education Groups meeting on 8th November 2006 it was agreed that the Education Policy and Network Groups should merge to form a single Advisory Group which will deal with all aspects of Science Education. The Chair of the new group and its terms of reference will shortly be agreed by the Science Council Board, while its membership will be made up of the representatives from the Network and Policy groups.

The joint meeting of the groups followed a plenary session on the proposed Science Diploma, and produced a position statement from the Science Council which was submitted to the QCA to form part of their report to the DfES.
