Science and Sustainable Development

Terms of Reference
- Advise the Board of the Science Council on issues relating to science and sustainability and how the science community can best make a contribution to the sustainability agenda.
- Advise the Board on relevant projects that will enhance the reputation and standing of the Science Council and when necessary seek funding and / or partner support.
- Identify opportunities where member institutions can act collectively.
Seek to establish collaborative partnerships with agencies and organisations in the sustainability field. - Introduce external advice and support to the Group by Co-opting experts from other bodies, agencies and organisations.
- Seek to include sustainability within professional development*, professional practice and inter discipline relationships with other professions.
- Promote the widest possible awareness of the benefits of science in enhancing sustainability.
- Maintain awareness of developing issues of public concern relating to the science and sustainability framework (and the environment) and respond where deemed appropriate for the Science Council.
- Maintain a record of all meetings of the Group and report on activities to the board of the Science Council.
